All About Arizona
Shed light on the shadowy figures and events that have left an impact on Arizona’s past in this three-day series. These programs will highlight true crime from around the state. Presentations will be made by the Scottsdale Police Department, ABC Family’s Morgan Loew, Scottsdale Community College and other community partners. The Colorado, the Gila, the Salt, the Verde, the Hassayampa, the Santa Cruz: Arizona’s rivers were lush green ribbons of life flowing through a desert landscape. The rivers became sustaining paths for indigenous traders and immigrants. Dr. Jay Crayáth weaves narrative, history, music and images to share the stories of these vital sources.

For the Little Ones
(all ages) Join us for a magical day of storytelling at Rio Montaña Park’s newest StoryWalk, “Addy’s Chair to Everywhere” by Debi Novotny. Enjoy fun activities, meet the author and savor some tasty snacks as we celebrate together.
 
(ages 0-3) Books Can…© is a unique program that uses popular picture books, rhymes, songs, and interactive activities to promote children’s social and emotional development. Registration is required and participants are expected to attend all six sessions during this three week series.
 
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a fun program that encourages families to read 1,000 books together before their kids start kindergarten. It’s a flexible program that helps build strong reading skills. By reading with your child every day or sharing fun learning moments, you can set them up for success in reading. The program doesn’t cost anything, but the benefits are incredible!

Kanopy streaming service offers Noirvember with films celebrating the timeless allure of film noir. Featured films spotlight classic and contemporary noir films, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the genre's signature blend of mystery, suspense and stylistic flair. It's a month-long tribute to iconic cinema, perfect for fans and newcomers alike.

Did you know you can associate your library card with someone else's, allowing them to pick up your holds using their own card without needing yours? Account details remain private and no information will be shared. To enable this service feature, please visit a library branch with the person you wish to associate your account with. Both parties must be present to consent. Parents/guardians of minors may associate accounts without the child being present.

All Scottsdale Public Library locations, including Pony Express at Appaloosa Library, will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11, for the Veterans Day holiday. All locations will also close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, and remain closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
